About Face Theatre

When I took over marketing and design for About Face Theatre, one of the country's leading queer theatres, the company was looking for stability after several years of designers coming and going. Design from previous seasons had run the gamut of abstract collage illustration to basic photography. I sought to reset the company's design by putting its artists (and thus its community) front and center as the primary focus of its marketing. Using my long-time photographer Nathanael Filbert, who elevated the quality of the imagery, and using clear, concise design, I aimed to bring a sense of warmth and sophisticated to the company.
