About a month ago, I finished a reworking of Emerald City Theatre’s website. Emerald City is a Chicago children’s theatre. This wasn’t really a redesign, as the company is still exploring it’s own branding and wasn’t ready to commit to anything too far from what they already had. However, what they were working with at the time looked like it had been designed and coded about 10 years ago (it made no use of stylesheets, effective includes, or even an organized style hierarchy). So my main mandate was to scrub the code, make the whole site a little sleeker, modern, and up-todate, and to introduce some clarity to what had become a very jumbled organizational structure. In the end, some of the way it’s now organized was not what I felt was optimal, but the site is head and shoulders above what it used to be. (Click the image to go to the site.)
